Fuelling Cape Town’s Growth Coalition & Partnerships

The City has launched a new platform to unlock economic opportunities for the food and beverage sector, together with the Western Cape Economic Development Partnership (WCEDP) and industry business partners. The WCEDP’s Programme Lead Brian Adams explains: “The Food and Beverage Growth Coalition is an independent platform that will help government and business leaders develop a reciprocal relationship of responsibility and accountability.

The City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, Alderman James Vos, said that structured and outcome-driven stakeholder engagements are critical for sharing knowledge, planning and implementing together, ensuring alignment for the realisation of growth opportunities and resolution of challenges.

‘Sustainable responsiveness calls for collaborative partnerships between all sectors – government, business, communities and academia in the form of growth coalitions within Cape Town’s most high value industries. The City is committed to eliminating the barriers to doing business, and through this approach, will support its current regulatory reform process,’ said Alderman Vos.
